What is lone working?

A lone worker is someone who works by themselves for all or a substantial part of their working day, on a regular basis, without close or direct supervision or the support of colleagues. Lone workers may be found in a variety of situations, including maintenance workers, service workers, and construction workers. It can also include anyone who works at home such as freelancers and self-employed or those who work remotely.

This Lone Working eLearning course is designed to provide those who work alone with the appropriate information and training to reduce the hazards of lone working and ensure they are familiar with control procedures in place.
